Carol Watson, the Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director of the FutureWork Institute, is an experienced diversity and cultural inclusion consultant, facilitator and marketing executive. She is also a diverse talent acquisition and retention strategist and thought leader. Her approach is to co-create sustainable transformation with leaders, teams and complex organizations by accessing a wide breadth of tools. Her work has included retention strategies, cultural agility workshops, presentations, focus groups, leadership and career coaching and Business Resource Group business alignment strategies. Her client engagement experience has taken her across the US as well as to France, Costa Rica and China.
Carol is also Founder/President of Tangerine Watson, Inc. the largest cross-cultural talent consultancy serving the advertising, marketing and media industries. She has worked with the largest agency, media and consumer brands including Ogilvy and Mather, Draftfcb, Young and Rubicam, McCann Worldwide, Nielsen, General Mills. TW, Inc. designed and executed The Impact Study, the first definitive, industry-wide study of diverse advertising professionals. She also produced Thrive, an original content, multicultural professional development, virtual publication reaching 6000 industry professionals monthly.
Prior to this, Carol was a senior executive in the advertising and media industry holding executive positions in advertising and marketing at The New York Times, Essence, and as Publisher of Vibe Magazine.
Her Board leadership experience includes Presidency of AWNY (Advertising Women of NY) and Board Advisor of Women at NBCUniversal (Television Network) Carol has been featured in the New York Times, Crain’s New York, Advertising Age and Black Enterprise, and is a frequent advertising, media and marketing industry contributor, panelist and keynote speaker.
Carol is certified in MBTI, IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory), iPEC Energy Leadership, an ICF certified Executive Coach and a Pepperdine MSOD candidate.
