Associate Consultant

Miriam Muléy is a Senior Consultant with The FutureWork Institute who is an advocate for diversity, inclusion and equity. Her mission is to use her knowledge of marketing, communications, D&I and managing large businesses for profitable growth to accelerate business impact and corporate reputation. She uses her voice to build connections that remind us of the power of diversity and inclusion.

She has over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, diversity, inclusion, marketing, communication, executive coaching, keynote delivery, and qualitative research. She has extensive experience in working with leaders to develop, integrate, and align, as well as execute strategies to advance diversity and inclusion. She is regarded as a “go to” person to help drive important enterprise-wide initiatives through business planning, key message development, senior leadership and employee engagement programs, and delivery vehicles. Her clients include Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck & Co., Inc., Prudential and The Humphrey Group, a communications firm.

Miriam was formerly the Executive Director, Marketing and Sales at General Motors Corporation, responsible for advertising, dealer training and sales in the Women’s market, Hispanic, African American, Asian, Youth, LGBT and Mobility segments for the U.S. for Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Hummer, Saab, Saturn; General Manager for Avon Products, Inc. with Profit & Loss responsibility for the $200 MM Women of Color Business Unit; and, EVP of Marketing for Carson, a division of L’Oréal.

Among her many awards and distinctions, she was appointed to the Leadership Council for the Inclusion Allies Coalition in 2020 – a global organization of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity practitioners, was saluted by Ebony Magazine as an “Outstanding Woman in Marketing & Communication,” was named by Elle Magazine as “The Strategist,” is listed as “One of the Top Afro Latinas Changing the World” by Latina Magazine, has been featured in Direct Selling News, Ad Age, African American Women on Wheels and other publications for her insights and business perspective.

She has written a book, now in its second printing, The 85% Niche: The Power of Women of All Colors – Latina, Black and Asian, focusing on the power of women of color and their importance to future economic growth as consumers, employees and entrepreneurs.
A frequent public speaker, Miriam has participated in a TEDTalk series on the Voices of Women, led keynotes at the Coca Cola Essence Music Festival, Procter & Gamble, General Mills, the Prudential Company, Morgan Stanley, Marketing to Women and Marketing to Mom Conferences. She has served on the National Board for NAWBO, NBC Universal, and Madrinas, an organization focused on empowering Latinas in corporations.

She has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. She enjoys kickboxing, cooking and travel and lives in Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina.
