Maria Cristina Carvalho is an Affiliate Partner of The FutureWork Institute. She is an organizational mediator, and a career and executive coach (ACC/ICF) with extensive experience in leading teams, change management processes, merger and acquisitions, diversity and inclusion programs and corporate governance.
She has more than 30 years of experience in global financial institutions (Santander, ABN AMRO Real, and Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria), and social security, pension, and benefits (SantanderPrevi and Sanprev). For five years she chaired the Deliberative Council of Private Pension Fund (Banesprev) and joined the Integrare Council for eight years.
Maria Cristina managed merger and acquisition programs focused on adjusting cultures and the strategic management of corporate policies. She also managed different areas under the Human Resources umbrella, such as Benefits, Compensation, Expats, Diversity and Inclusion, Relationship with Stakeholders, Corporate Affairs, and Social Responsibility.
For five years, she was a Professor in the Social Responsibility Program from FGV, teaching two different cases: Supplier Management and Diversity Management. Maria Cristina also led the Subcommittee on Health and Diversity of Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks).
She attended many HR international platforms and represented employers in different Health and Diversity Commissions (ILO – Geneva/Switzerland). In 2015, Maria Cristina was nominated as an “Expert Panelist” for GDIB (Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks).
Maria Cristina has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (PUC/SP), a Master’s degree in HR Management(FOC/SP), and a Project Management Certificate (GVpec -FGV). She is an Administration Councilor (by Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute). She is also certified in Business Administration (by ICSS); Coaching (by Ecosocial Institute and The Inner Game International School of Coaching-USA) and Organizational Mediator (by EcoSocial, IMO Brazil and Trigon Entwicklungsberatung-Germany). As Mediator, she is also certified by ICFML (Instituto de Certificação de Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos) and by Centro Mediar & Conciliar according Resolution 125/2010 – CNJ (Brazilian – National Council of Justice).
She is certified in DISC and MBTI (Step I and II).
